Rey21 Fall-Winter collection titled Mamadi, was a tributing collection to Lamin “Rey” Jaiteh’s close friend named Mamadi, who died in October, 2020. Mamadi died at the age of 21, and since his death, Rey has never been the same. He dedicated 12 months of his life creating this collection, and a fashion show to honor his the death of Mamadi. On the day of the fashion, he wrote this letter to him:

Mamadi, today is your day. Our day. For the past few months I’ve been pretty determine about making you proud, I named my 3rd collection after you. I planned a fashion show in your honor, I want to make you proud. I want to feel closer to you. You were my friend. A great friend and the fact of the matter is, you’re no longer here and I cannot seem to accept it. Your death is too much for me to process. It’s been about a year now, eleven months and nine days since your passing, and I am yet to believe that my boy is gone. Regardless, today is THE day. Mamadi’s Day. I pray that you’re doing great out there. I feel your spirit everyday. I see your resemblance everywhere I go. I know you’re still here, and you’ll never leave. Please lookout for us. I Love you bro.
